Fully Electric Volvo XC40 Recharge

Volvo has now its brand-new Recharge car line concept; the Volvo XC40 Recharge.

The Volvo Recharge range will be the over arching name for all chargeable Volvo cars with a fully electric and plug-in hybrid power train.

Volvo objective is to have 50% of its sales coming from its all-electric cars and for this, the manufacturer has planned to launch a new fully electric car every year.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is an SUV that will bring everything that can be expected from a Volvo, with the addition of its fully electric all-wheel power train offering more than 400km on a single charge.

It will take only 40 minutes to go from 0 to 80% of capacity when charging on a fast-charger system.

Volvo really wants to encourage electric driving and for this, any new Recharge car will come with free electricity for a year. Volvo will provide a refund of the average electricity cost during that initial period of driving the car.

Via Volvo-On-Call, drivers will have access to android- powered infotainment and will also track how much time they spend driving the car on electric power.

Every Volvo model in the range includes a Recharge option, from the XC40 small SUV, via the 60 series cars to the company's flagship, the XC90 large SUV. Volvo Cars is the only car maker to offer a plug-in variant of every model in its line-up.
